I was just kidding before! I didn't expect REAL prehistoric animals to start showing up! A-Ahem...

*There was some muttering before he spoke up into the walkie-talkie properly*

Is there a place where more people are gathering together to try and keep safe in bigger numbers? If so, I'd appreciate some general directions there because I just spent several hours getting out of a tree and down a small cliff to try and keep out of reach and another two getting back up when things decided I still smelled like prey.

Given that this is supposedly a dream world, this will let up and change eventually right? Dreams, even nightmares... they don't go on forever...

It's the easiest way to subdue you! *Shouichi wasn't going to let the teasing stop him or slow him down, even if he was blushing from it. He grabbed at an ankle again and tugged and tried to flip Byakuran over to pin him down again.*

*He struggled but Shouichi was able to flip him over and get him pinned. Huffing, he feigned irritation and arched to try and embarrass him into getting off of him.*

I never thought that in this situation I'd be the one on bottom!

I don't even want to know what you mean by that! *Not that he didn't have a very good idea, he just didn't want to think about it. Shouichi could feel his face burning and Byakuran struggling under him didn't help matters at all. He took the remaining vine length though and wrapped it tightly up the other's arms and tied it off*

I'm not going to let you get away.

*Pouting up at Shouichi, he just laid there with his hands bound. He gave a few experimental tugs but he could tell he wouldn't be able to get out of it this time. Damn.*

....I guess this means you win then, Shou-chan. *He tipped his head up, invading Shouichi's personal space as usual, lowering his voice.*

What are you going to do with me, now~?

*Shouichi jerked back just a little, though still straddling Byakuran, and swallowed hard* Well the game is over, so I'm going to untie you because this isn't safe out here...

*He slid off the other man and knelt at his side while he untied him*

Ahhhhh fine.

*He laid back, holding his hands up with a siiiigh while Shouichi untied him. Turned his head so he could look at him and he smiled.*

I guess I have to uphold my end of the deal, huh?

I would have had to if I had lost, wouldn't I?

*Another siiiigh and he stood up, giving a long stretch, arms way above his head.*

Mm... this is going to hurt a little bit~!

*Shouichi watched him from behind his smudged glasses, curious, but the way he'd said that...*

What do you mean? Is it something... you really didn't want me to know about?

I don't cheat at Choice, Shou-chan. I accepted your terms so I will show you...

*He stretched his arms out to his sides and then slowly relaxed his body, his ring bursting into flame as he grinned and rather suddenly, large white wings burst out of his back, spreading out wide, flaming sparking out of his feathers.*

*Shouichi's eyes grew impossibly wide and he stared, he even forgot to breathe for several long moments*

....Byakuran-san... wh-when....how...?

Shhh.

*Byakuran stepped forward and reached out to take Shouichi's face in his hands.*

It's a symbol of my power... that I am something higher than humans. I was meant to be God, don't you see? You can feel my power simply be being close, can't you?

*Shouichi remained very still, but his eyes looked just a little sad as he listened to him*

So, they've come from a product of your powers then?

.... s-stop if it's hurting you though.

*Loosely, he wrapped his arms around Shouichi's shoulders and he extinguished his flame, wings disappearing in an explosion of sparks that quickly died out.*

...it just hurts a little when they come out. I'm fine.

*Shouichi stiffened in sheer surprise at the embrace, but quickly relaxed, shoulders slumping and he leaned into the other man for just a moment. Why--- *

You could have just told me you know...

This sort of thing... it's easier to just show you, don't you think?

*Bumped foreheads with a light smile, seeming a little tired now.*

It wears me out though! I might need to take an hour or so to re-charge. We should go back to where we were before and eat. Find more water.

*Shouichi sighed at that answer before he offered a very faint smile in return*

Resting and food and water are a good idea.

*He oriented himself, though it took a moment and then looked to Byakuran, giving him a long look. He wasn't used to having to worry about if he was strong enough for something...* How worn out are you? You can make it back fine, right?

I'll be fine. Don't you worry about me, Shou-chan.

*Gently, he ran his fingers through Shouichi's hair a few times, petting him as he did on occassion. He seemed satisfied after a moment and then slowly stepped away, going back in the direction of the little 'camp' they were resting at before.*

*As Byakuran's fingers slid through his hair, Shouichi tried to block out the voice in his mind, Byakuran's voice, as it echoed what he'd said earlier...

Meant to be a God...

For a moment, he just wanted to forget that and let this be a moment between friends. Just normal friends. Even if one of those friends was prone to invading personal space... Shouichi inwardly sighed and let him do so without protest though and ignored the light flush on his own cheeks (it was the heat!).

He hesitated there for a moment after the other man stepped away before following after him*

.... you should have seen your face just before I landed, by the way.

Ah? I probably looked like a deer in headlights, didn't I? I have to admit Shou-chan. Never in a million years would I have expected you to come swinging out of a tree.

Seems like I've been underestimating you this entire time! But don't you worry, I'll keep a better eye out in the future.

*Chuckled quietly, sticking his hands in his pockets as he walked, slowing so Shouichi could catch up and walk alongside him.*

I can't believe I lost! I really wanted to know your naughty secrets! Assuming you have any. My Shou-chan is too good for that. Probably nothing worse than cheating on a test. You're too smart to have needed to though.

Trust me, I never thought I'd be doing something that insane either. But I had to catch you by surprise and... well, it did that at least.

*Shouichi matched Byakuran's pace as he came up beside him*

... Everyone has secrets, Byakuran-san.

Though, I don't recall ever actually cheating on a test except once in middle school. *He sighed, remembering that rather well still* And it's only because I'd burned my textbook and couldn't replace it before the test.

Burned your textbook? Well that's another thing out of character for you. You were a silly child then..

I was very well behaved. Always did my work and never said a bad thing about anyone. A very good little boy.

*Reached over to the side, clasping a hand over Shouichi's shoulder and giving a squeeze.*

...it'd be fun knowing what kind of dirty little secrets you have. It's okay though, I won't pry!

I... was a very silly, stupid kid.

*Shouichi nearly jumped at that squeeze and glanced over, shoving down the nervous flop of his stomach*

Well, you better not. You lost.

Losing doesn't mean I can't poke at you. It just means you're not obligated to tell me.

*For emphasis, he poked at his side a few times.*

Ah. I remember meeting you. You were so panicked!

*Shouichi batted at Byakuran's hands at the pokings and moved a step or two away with a frown*

Hm? ... *D-Did he really remember that...?* What are you--?
